NEXUS LETTERS
NEXUS LETTERS
Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls;
the most massive characters are seared with scars.
~Khalil Gibran
You selflessly served, giving all that was asked and more. The impact of that service on your health and wellbeing can be profound, far-reaching, overwhelming and even debilitating. Far too many Veterans suffer quietly, unseen and unheard, and therefore unsupported.
I am here to help you be seen and heard so you can secure the support you deserve.
Never was so much owed by so many to so few.
~Winston Churchill
By completing a thorough review of records and a mental health evaluation to establish, clarify, or confirm diagnosis, I can work with you to compile the evidence you need (i.e. Nexus letter, continuity of care documentation) for a strong claim.
With the comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation Package you get:
-
One-time virtual mental health assessment, including diagnosis if applicable
-
Comprehensive review of provided medical records
-
Mental Health Nexus letter / IMO (independent medical opinion)
-
DBQ for Mental Health Disorders
-
Treatment recommendations including possible option for mental health treatment (psychotherapy) and/or reference/referral to appropriate provider
The following documents will be helpful for making the strongest case possible:
-
DD214
-
Medical records including active conditions/problem list
-
Benefits summary (if claiming a secondary condition)
-
Personal Statements and Buddy Letters if available/applicable
-
Blue Button Report
Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.
~Harry Truman
What to expect:
Start with a free 30min phone consultation to go over what you are looking for, review cost and payment options, review and sign consents and releases, and schedule the initial evaluation.
The initial evaluation for diagnosis, clarification, confirmation, or 2nd opinion includes interview, scoring and interpretation of any completed measures (i.e. PCL-5, GAD7, PHQ9), and a 1-hour feedback session. When we meet for feedback, I will go over the results of the evaluation and offer my opinion about whether or not there is enough to support a Nexus letter so you can decide if you would like me to proceed.
If you elect to proceed with the Nexus letter, this will entail a comprehensive review of any provided relevant medical records and documentation to establish that the condition is service-related, after which I will draft the Nexus letter and review it with you.
Additionally, I will offer appropriate treatment recommendations for any diagnosed condition(s). If psychotherapy is recommended and you are in the state of Washington, we can discuss proceeding with individual psychotherapy with me and/or I will provide references to relevant and appropriate providers. Engaging in ongoing care for diagnosed, service-related mental health conditions can strengthen your claim. If we work together in individual therapy, I will be happy to provide documentation of continuity of care in support of your claim.
